Zitat aus der e-mail eines geschäftlichen Kontakts: “I was knocked out with strep throat this weekend but plan to make an appearance in the office today for a few meetings.”
“An appearance” – ganz nach dem Motto “I pretend to work. They pretend to pay me.” Oder habe ich da was falsch verstanden?
na da würde ich eher sagen “an appearance” wie in “to make an appearance” ( http://www.dict.cc/englisch-deutsch/to+make+an+appearance.html ) oder “an appearance in a movie” …
